Our curriculum in years 7-11
At Bourne End Academy we offer a deep and rich curriculum that aims to meet the individual needs of each and every student, ensuring they make the exceptional progress we know they are capable of. Alongside the academic emphasis and variety, we have a focus on British Values, Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural skills to develop every student for life after Bourne End Academy.

Key Stage 3 (Year 7 to Year 9)
Pupils experience a deep and rich curriculum, which includes English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Spanish, Religious Education, Physical Education, Music, Drama, Dance, Art and Graphic Design.
As well as the range of subjects offered, students also have time allotted for Accelerated Reader to develop and boost students reading ages, regardless of starting points ensuring each students has the highest of literacy standards
In January of Year 9 students begin the ‘Options’ process, with students receiving information on what subjects are offered at Key Stage 4, this is done in a range of ways includes prospectuses Options assemblies, Options Evening for parents and formal meetings with members of the Senior Leadership Team to discuss the options chosen and there suitability. All of the information is used to ensure that the pathways on offer to students maximise their time, progress and experience at Bourne End Academy.
Key Stage 4 (Year 10 and Year 11)
Students experience a broad complement of subject at GCSE level, Level 2 BTEC and Level 2 Technical Awards offered. Alongside the new curriculum offers pupils engage in a Core curriculum of English, Mathematics, Science, Physical Education (non examined) and Religious Education (non examined).

Each student at Bourne End Academy takes part in an ‘In house’ PSHCE program developed to students, personal, social, health and cultural skills to deal living in modern Britain, with a focus on key British values and careers.
